Atom smasher DC comics superhero
Atom Smasher, also known as Albert Rothstein, is a DC Comics superhero with the ability to alter his size and density. Created by Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway, Atom Smasher first appeared in "All-Star Squadron" #25 in 1983.
Albert Rothstein is the godson of Al Pratt, the original Atom in the Golden Age of comics. Al Pratt was a member of the Justice Society of America (JSA). Albert Rothstein's powers are linked to exposure to the mysterious substance known as Nth metal. Nth metal has unique mystical properties and is associated with magical enhancements. Inspired by his godfather's heroic legacy, Albert Rothstein inherits the mantle of the Atom and adopts the superhero identity of Atom Smasher. Atom Smasher's powers involve the ability to manipulate his size and density at will. He can grow to gigantic proportions, gaining superhuman strength, or shrink down to a smaller size. Additionally, he can increase his density to become incredibly heavy or decrease it to become lighter.
Atom Smasher becomes a member of the Justice Society of America, continuing the tradition of his godfather and working alongside other superheroes.
1.Size and Density Manipulation: Atom Smasher has the ability to alter his size and density at will. He can grow to gigantic proportions or shrink down to a smaller size.
2. Superhuman Strength: When Atom Smasher increases his size and density, he gains superhuman strength proportionate to his altered mass. This makes him a formidable powerhouse in physical combat.
3. Invulnerability: Manipulating his density grants Atom Smasher a degree of invulnerability. He can become highly resistant to physical harm, depending on the level of density he adopts.
4. Flight: By decreasing his density, Atom Smasher can achieve a degree of levitation and flight.
5. Extended Lifespan: Atom Smasher's powers also provide him with an extended lifespan, slowing down the aging process.
Weaknesses:
1. Energy and Fatigue: While Atom Smasher possesses incredible strength and durability, the exertion of using his powers overextended periods can lead to fatigue.
2. Magic Vulnerability: Like many characters in the DC Universe, Atom Smasher is vulnerable to magical attacks. Magical forces may bypass his invulnerability.
3. Mental Struggles: Characters with size-changing abilities sometimes face mental challenges associated with adjusting to their altered perspectives and the psychological effects of their powers.
4. Reliance on Powers: Atom Smasher's effectiveness in combat relies heavily on his size and density manipulation. Disrupting or countering these abilities can limit his combat capabilities.
