Embracing his newfound powers, Luke Cage fights crime in Harlem, often teaming up with fellow heroes like Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. He's a resilient, street-level hero known for his unyielding determination and commitment to justice.

Luke Cage's origin begins with his life as Carl Lucas, a former gang member in Harlem. Falsely accused of a crime, he accepts an offer to participate in a prison experiment in exchange for an early parole. The experiment, designed to recreate the Super-Soldier Serum, grants him superhuman strength and unbreakable skin. When a sabotaged procedure leads to his transformation, Lucas escapes and adopts the alias Luke Cage. He becomes a "Hero for Hire," using his abilities to fight crime and help those in need, eventually becoming a prominent figure in the Marvel Universe.

Luke Cage made his first appearance in "Luke Cage, Hero for Hire" #1 in 1972. Created by Archie Goodwin, John Romita Sr., and George Tuska, he became Marvel Comics' first African-American superhero to headline his own series. Initially, Cage was a "Hero for Hire," using his powers to tackle various assignments but over the years, Luke Cage has been a member of superhero teams like the Heroes for Hire, the Defenders, and the Avengers. He has appeared in numerous comic series, crossovers, and adaptations in various media, including TV shows like "Luke Cage" on Netflix.
