Starfire DC comics superhero

Starfire, originally named Koriand'r, was born into the royal family of Tamaran. Tamaran is a distant alien world known for its warrior culture. Starfire has a sister named Komand'r, also known as Blackfire. The sisters had a strained relationship due to sibling rivalry and political intrigue on Tamaran. Komand'r orchestrated a plot to overthrow their parents and take control of Tamaran. In the process, Starfire was betrayed, captured, and handed over to the Psions, Tamaran's enemies.

The Psions subjected Starfire to brutal experiments, enhancing her already formidable Tamaranean physiology. She was also enslaved and forced to serve as a warrior.

Starfire managed to escape from captivity with the help of a Psion scientist named Myand'r. During her escape, she stole a spacecraft and fled to Earth.

Starfire's arrival on Earth brought her into contact with the Teen Titans, a group of young superheroes. Initially, there were misunderstandings and conflicts due to her alien nature and the language barrier.

Over time, Starfire formed strong bonds with the Teen Titans, including Robin (Dick Grayson), Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy. Her genuine and open-hearted nature endeared her to the team.

After joining the Teen Titans, Koriand'r adopted the superhero name "Starfire." This name reflects both her Tamaranean abilities related to starbolts and her radiant and positive personality.

Starfire developed a romantic relationship with Dick Grayson, who later became Nightwing.
