Hal Jordan is one of the most iconic Green Lanterns in DC Comics, known for his courage, willpower, and sense of responsibility. Created by writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane, Hal Jordan first appeared in "Showcase" #22 in 1959.Before becoming a Green Lantern, Hal Jordan was a skilled test pilot, known for his bravery and piloting abilities. Hal was chosen by the dying Green Lantern Abin Sur to become his successor after being deemed worthy by the power ring.Hal joins the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force tasked with maintaining order and justice across the universe. Hal is the first human to join the Green Lantern Corps, breaking the tradition of non-humans wielding the power ring.
