Reverse flash DC comics villain

Eobard Thawne, also known as Reverse-Flash, is a highly intelligent and formidable adversary of the Scarlet Speedster, The Flash. Eobard Thawne was born in the 25th century, a time period that had access to advanced technology and knowledge of the Speed Force, a cosmic force that grants speedster abilities.

Thawne developed an intense obsession with The Flash, particularly Barry Allen. He idolized The Flash and sought to emulate him by acquiring speedster abilities.

Using his knowledge of the future and the Speed Force, Thawne conducted a time-travel experiment to journey back to the 20th century, where The Flash existed. During the time-travel experiment, Thawne accidentally connected to a corrupted and dark aspect of the Speed Force known as the Negative Speed Force. This connection granted him speedster powers but also corrupted his motives.

Driven by his obsession and influenced by the Negative Speed Force, Eobard Thawne adopted the identity of Reverse-Flash. He chose this name as a reflection of his antagonistic relationship with The flash.

Reverse-Flash draws his powers from the Negative Speed Force, a dark and corrupted counterpart to the Speed Force. This gives him unique abilities and allows him to siphon speed from other speedsters.

Reverse-Flash's costume is a distinctive and inverted version of The Flash's costume, featuring a yellow suit with a red lightning bolt symbol. The reversed colors symbolize his antagonistic relationship with The Flash. Eobard Thawne, as Reverse-Flash, first appeared in "The Flash" #139 in 1963.
